SUMMARY:

Operates CNC Jamb machine, other jamb prep machinery, and related equipment, maintains communications associated with activities of equipment, product and customer specifications. Assumes responsibility of equipment, its mechanical condition and safe operation, performance in product quality and production output. Responsible for housekeeping, proper material utilization, employee relationships, and supports company goals. Advancement possible.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reads work orders to determine machine set up and material requirements.
  • Performs inspections of tooling, inspecting for damage or wear and changes tooling when worn or damaged.
  • Sets up and operates jamb prep machines, producing to customer specifications and following production schedule, periodically checks product for proper quality.
  • Sets up and operates casing miter machine, producing to customer specifications and following production schedule, periodically checks product for proper quality.
  • Completes production records pertaining to assigned machine.
  • Performs housekeeping functions maintaining a clean and well-organized work area.
  • Trains and assists in orientation of newly hired employees.
  • Communicates and maintains effective working relationships with management and co-workers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
  • Must possess a mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate machinery safely and determine when maintenance is needed.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of hand tools and measuring instruments such as tape measures, calipers, rulers, squares, temperature and pressure gages and any other instruments necessary to determine a standard of measure.
  • Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • The ability to read and follow product specifications, drawings, customer orders and production schedules.
  • Be self-motivated, quality conscious, detail oriented, have a positive attitude and be opportunistic, able to work in a fast-paced environment.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Highschool diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months job related experience and/or training.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, twist and bend for long periods of time. Able to use fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms. Must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 75 lbs. on a frequent basis.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Mechanically skilled, skilled in the theory, design, operation and care of machinery.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of measuring instruments such as tape measure, calipers, rulers, squares and other instruments necessary to determine a standard or measure.
  • The ability to read and follow customer orders, product specifications and production schedules.
  • The ability to work as a team member.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, quality conscious, positive attitude and opportunistic.
  • Good attendance.
  • The ability to work overtime when additional hours and production are required to meet customer delivery schedules.
  • Must have the ability to lift weight up to 75 lbs; stand, walk, use fingers to handle or feel. Reach with hands and arms; twist and bend.
  • The ability to perform other duties as needed.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
